Billy ‘Junk’ Jones, fastest Pump Track rider in Honiara takes home the big prize

Pure BMX skill displayed at the opening of the Kukum Pump Track translated into a big prize for one lucky rider. Billy ‘Junk’ Jones pumped his way to victory yesterday as he set the blistering record of 24.91 seconds. Billy, having set the fastest time of the day was rewarded with a fitting prize - a brand new BMX bicycle.

Lou said the social club was ‘always on the look out for a worthwhile cause and the Pump Track program is a great initiative’.

KPT Sessions - 23 seconds New Record

An exciting day today as the big double gets completed (enough to ride) and the first few hot laps are laid down.... The international record was set for 23 seconds by expat, Andrew Rettig. Followed closely behind by Billy Junk (local favourite to take the fastest lap as tomorrows opening) with a time of 26 seconds. All timings are of course unofficial and rely on Juniors phone!
